Terms of Service

1. What Hoarda is

Hoarda is a personal archive for the posts you save on social platforms. You connect the accounts you already use, and Hoarda copies the items you have saved into a private library that you can search, tag, organise into collections, annotate, ask questions of, and export. Our aim is that what you put in stays available to you even when the original disappears.

Hoarda is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Substack, Bluesky, Mastodon, Truth Social, or any other platform it reads from.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 to use Hoarda. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
• Give us accurate details and keep them current. You can sign in with an email and password, an emailed sign-in link, or your Google account.
• Your account is for you. Keep your credentials to yourself and let us know straight away if you think someone else has used it. You're responsible for what happens under your login until you tell us otherwise.
• We can refuse, suspend, or close accounts that break these terms (see section 12).

3. The content you save

The posts in your library were written by other people on other platforms. They belong to their authors and are subject to those platforms' rules. Hoarda doesn't own them, and neither does storing a copy make them yours.

You may only sync items from accounts that belong to you, and only items you have already saved there. You're responsible for making sure you're allowed to keep a personal copy of what you sync, and for how you use it.

The things you add yourself — tags, notes, collection names, questions you ask — are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, process, display, search, and back up your library for you, and to do the things you ask (like sharing a collection or exporting a file). That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept briefly in routine backups. We don't claim any broader licence, and we don't use your library to promote Hoarda or sell it to anyone.

4. Third-party platforms and the browser extension

Hoarda reads from platforms we don't control. Each of them has its own terms, and your use of those platforms — including connecting them to Hoarda — is governed by those terms and is your responsibility.

• The extension reads your saved items from your own logged-in session, in your own browser, and only when you ask it to. It's a tool for copying your own saves; using it to collect anything else is not permitted.
• Connecting X uses X's official sign-in. Hoarda can then read your bookmarks and profile, and — if you remove a bookmark inside Hoarda — remove it from X too. You can disconnect X from Hoarda at any time.
• Platforms change. They alter their sites and APIs without warning, and a sync that worked yesterday can stop working. We'll do our best to keep things running, but we can't promise any platform will stay supported, and we may ask you to reconnect an account when something changes.

5. AI features

Some features use AI: suggesting tags, searching by meaning, capturing a thread, and Ask Hoarda, which answers questions using your own library. These are generated automatically. They can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and they can miss the nuance of what you saved. Please treat them as helpful drafts: review tag suggestions before applying them, and don't rely on an AI answer for anything important without checking the source posts it cites.

AI features cost real money to run, so we may apply fair-use limits or adjust what's included in each plan. How your content is handled by our AI providers is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Sharing and public collections

Your library is private unless you choose otherwise. If you make a collection public, it becomes viewable by anyone who has the link (and, on Pro, through its RSS feed). Only share what you have the right to share, and remember that a link can be passed on. You can make a collection private again at any time, though copies others have already made are out of our hands.

We may disable a public link or remove shared content if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, the law, or someone's rights.

7. Plans, payments, and cancellation

• Free includes a capped number of saved posts and a core set of features. We may change what the Free plan includes, but we'll tell you before a change affects your existing library.
• Pro is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• Because you can cancel at any time and keep what you paid for, we don't refund unused portions of a billing period — except where the law requires it, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
• If we change Pro pricing, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before it applies to your next renewal. Prices may exclude taxes, which are added where they apply.
• If a payment fails or a subscription ends, your account returns to Free. Your existing library stays; you just can't add beyond the Free limit until you upgrade again.

8. Acceptable use

• Only sync items from accounts that belong to you. Hoarda is for your own saved posts, not for collecting other people's data.
• Don't use Hoarda, the extension, or any automation to scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect content from a platform beyond your own saved items.
• Don't share, publish, or make public anything you don't have the right to share, or anything that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone's rights.
• Don't try to get around plan limits, probe or disrupt our systems, interfere with other people's accounts, or access data that isn't yours.
• Don't reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or build a competing product from the Hoarda software, its design, or its outputs.
• Don't use Hoarda for anything illegal in Australia or wherever you are.

9. Your data, exports, and deletion

Your library belongs to you, and you should always be able to take it with you. You can export everything as PDF, CSV, Markdown, or JSON at any time.

You can delete individual items or your whole account whenever you like. Deleting your account is immediate and permanent: your saved posts, tags, notes, collections, archived media, connected-account tokens, and login are all removed, and we can't recover them for you afterwards. If you might want your library later, export it first.

10. Our stuff

The Hoarda name, logo, design, software, and everything else that makes up the service (other than your content and the posts you save) belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service as intended; they don't transfer any ownership to you.

If you send us ideas or feedback, you agree we can use them to improve Hoarda without owing you anything — though we're always grateful.

11. Permanence, availability, and what we can't promise

Keeping your saves safe is the whole point of Hoarda, and we work hard at it. But we are a small service that depends on other platforms and providers, and we can't guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or that nothing will ever be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, Hoarda is provided “as is” and we make no warranties beyond those we can't exclude. Your best protection is the one we built in: export your library regularly.

12. Ending things

You can stop using Hoarda at any time by deleting your account.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if your use puts other people or the service at risk. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your library first.

If we ever decide to wind Hoarda down, we'll give you reasonable notice and enough time to export everything before it closes.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded by agreement. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we do so as follows.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data that could reasonably have been exported, loss of profits, or losses caused by third-party platforms, providers, or events outside our reasonable control. Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or, where the law lets us, to re-supplying the service.

You agree to cover us against claims by third parties that arise from content you share publicly through Hoarda or from your breach of these terms, to the extent you caused the problem.

14. Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms as Hoarda grows. For changes that matter to you — new limits, new charges, or changes to your rights — we'll give you notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Hoarda after a change means you accept it; if you don't, you can export your library and delete your account.

15. The legal bits

• Hoarda is operated from Australia, and these terms are governed by Australian law. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Australia, and you and we each accept their jurisdiction.
• If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Hoarda.
• You can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them if Hoarda changes hands, in which case your rights won't be reduced.
• If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
